ONWARD AND UPWARD

It is at times like we have been through that determination, courage and strength shine through. The loss of Queen Elizabeth II has brought to mind the changes and happiness the second Elizabethan era has given to her subjects, and the world in general. For seventy years she has been steadfast and true, putting the promise she made at the age of 21 first and foremost.

Like most people, I only remember a Queen on the throne: a strong, wise, determined woman among this nation’s monarchy. Being a historian, and with a genuine love for history at whatever level and era, I believe that each new phrase within this country’s history should be taken in the words ‘Onward and Upward’ – in other words, embrace the future with equal measure as we did the past.

Our Queen will never be forgotten, and in my view, which is tiny within this vast kingdom, I believe the word ‘Great’ should precede this woman’s memory and name.

Great Britain’s Great Queen, as we approach the next chapter that brings a King to the throne.

Sweet Memories.
