FIRST NARRATIVE.

As a writer I love to sit back and experiment. Now, during the three years I spent studying for my Batchelor of Arts degree in English and American History, I came across many a quote that first narrative within the genre form can be a ‘no go’ area. This intrigued me.

After the completion of My Master’s degree in International Studies (History, I started to take my writing serious. I pondered what a young girl’s journey would be like, tinged with the shadow of deceit, secrets, and lies – three books written in first narrative – a personal account.

To begin with the ‘should I?’ and ‘should I not?’ came into play, then I knew a diary, my second book, must be personal to be correct.

So, the long journey of first narrative was devised into Rhia Bryant’s story.

Do I regret it?

No, for the books follow a young girls’ discovery of herself, into womanhood: the mystery surrounding that journey adds extra dimension – it is her words, her look at the life she leads.

So, do not be afraid to try out what many would not contemplate – there will be more books for the narrator to take a back seat.
